Puliyannoor Mahadeva Temple is a Hindu place of worship situated in Puliyannoor, within the Mutholy panchayat, close to Pala in the Kottayam district.
It is widely recognized as 'Cheruthil Valuthu Puliyannoor' (big among the small). The temple is managed by the Namboothiri families known as 'Puliyannoor Oorayma Temple Devaswom'. It is located approximately 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) from Pala and 13 kilometers (8.1 miles) from Ettumanoor.
The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, with subordinate deities including Ganapathi, Yogeeswara, Sastha, Nāga, Krishna, Devi, and Yakshiyamma. The construction of the temple was undertaken by an individual named 'Chathamplackal (Nalonnil) Chonar Chettiar'.
Annual festival occurs during the Malayalam month of 'Kumbham' (February/March) and lasts for eight days. In addition to the annual festival, other significant celebrations include Vishu, Navratri, Mandala - Makaravilakku, and Maha Shivarathri.
പുലിയന്നൂർ മഹാദേവ ക്ഷേത്രം
കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു പ്രധാന ശിവക്ഷേത്രമാണ് പുലിയന്നൂർ മഹാദേവക്ഷേത്രം. പാലായിൽ നിന്ന് 3 കി.മീ. പടിഞ്ഞാറ് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം 'ചെറുതിൽ വലുത്' എന്ന പേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. കൊടിയേറ്റോടെ ഉത്സവം ആരംഭിച്ച് ശിവരാത്രി ആഘോഷിക്കുന്ന കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ പ്രധാന ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ് ഇത്.
ഊരാണ്മ ഭരണസമിതിയുടെ കീഴിലാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ നിയന്ത്രണം. ശിവരാത്രിയോടനുബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള പുലിയന്നൂർ കാവടി ഏറെ പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. ഗണപതി, ശാസ്താവ്, യക്ഷിയമ്മ, യോഗീശ്വരൻ, സർപ്പങ്ങൾ, ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണൻ, ദേവി എന്നിവയുടെ ഉപദേവതാ മൂർത്തികളും ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.
